Troop 7 Pinehurst

Troop 7 has been continuously chartered by Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst, NC since 1925.  We are the oldest troop in our scouting district (Sandhills District, Occoneechee Council) and one of the oldest in the state of North Carolina.  Our troop draws members from over 5 different towns and villages in the Sandhills area and several school systems.  Troop 7 is a BSA Quality Unit and has been for the past 10 years.

 

Troop 7’s program encourages personal responsibility and develops Scout leadership skills.  The adult leaders of Troop 7 are devoted to helping our youth become better citizens of the community and responsible, well rounded, leaders of tomorrow.

 

Over the past several years Troop 7 has attended summer camps throughout North Carolina, hiked on the Appalachian Trail, and attended BSA High Adventure camps at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and Northern Tier in Ontario, Canada. Please visit our Calendar page as we have monthly events which generally take boys to places they may otherwise never have an opportunity to visit.  We camp as often as our schedule allows and many of our outings coincide with merit badge requirements and rank advancement opportunities.

 

We have approximately 40 Scouts and 35 adults registered to the Troop and we conduct Troop level leadership training at least once per year.  This gives the boys the opportunity to hone their leadership skills and have some fun in the process.
